5 Reasons Why Young Women Should Perform Breast Self Exam

When you're young, breast cancer is probably the furthest thing from your mind. However, it shouldn’t be. Although breast cancer in young women is significantly less common among those from 20 to 39, it does happen. Don’t believe it won’t happen to you, I personally knew a young woman only 21 or 22 who had breast cancer. Finding time to incorporate breast self exam into your monthly schedule is easy when you realize just how important it is.

1. Except for certain types of skin cancer, breast cancer is the most common form of cancer diagnosed in women of all ages. Although the most confirmed and noteworthy risk factors for developing breast cancer are gender and growing older.

2. Younger women diagnosed with breast cancer often experience a more aggressive cancer and a lower chance of survival. This fact alone is enough to make early detection and breast self exam crucial for younger women.

3. Generally, screening mammograms are recommended at age 40. Sadly, this occasionally results in younger women not being diagnosed with breast cancer until the cancer is in a later stage, and can lower their chance of survival.

4. Because breast tissue isn't as thick when you're younger it can make diagnosis of breast cancer difficult. For this reason young women should begin monthly breast self exam at age 20, so that you can become familiar with how your breasts look and how they feel, thereby making it easier for you to notice any changes in your breasts.

5. Because the lifetime risk of breast cancer is one in seven for American women, establishing good breast health practices while you are still young can reduce your chance of getting breast cancer at a later stage.

Remember, anytime you see or feel any kind of change in your breast(s) you should see your health-care provider. Only a qualified medical professional can definitively diagnose the cause of breast issues. Breast changes don't always mean breast cancer, but they do mean you should see your doctor.

Fertile Women Want Masculine Men

A new study says the fertile women become more attracted to other men if their partner has a less-masculine “baby face.”

Researchers at the University of New Mexico studied 66 monogamous couples over the course of a month. They rated the intelligence and the appearance of the men. A strong jaw, chin, and brow make a masculine face. For the women, researchers surveyed them on their sexual attractions and fantasies during their fertile and non-fertile periods.

Women with masculine-looking partners said their eyes wander less, perhaps because the traits women tend to find sexy when they’re fertile are already present in their partners. However, while those women weren’t looking elsewhere, they also weren’t more attracted to their own manly partners while fertile, suggesting that women’s reasons for wanting sex, not overall desire, might be what varies throughout the cycle.

Breathe easy, baby-faced men. The results only appeared when the women rated men’s sexiness. In terms of long-term attraction, a masculine face didn’t mean much.

“The take-home message of that is that intelligence is probably always pretty important for a woman,” said Martie Haselton, a University of California, Los Angeles, psychologist who was not involved in the current study, but who has studied changes in women across the menstrual cycle. “Low intelligence is not really a turn-on for anybody.”

While it might be good for long-term prospects, intelligence had no effect on the wandering eye. She might stay with you because you’re smart, but it doesn’t mean she’s not thinking about other guys.

If you’re an attractive guy, congrats. Your partner will be even more attracted to you when she’s fertile. Masculine men saw no change in the desire of their mates during a fertile period, according to the survey.

The survey’s findings fit in with evolutionary theory. Our female ancestors would’ve wanted a more masculine male because he’d be expect to produce a heartier offspring. In a way, it’s natural for women to be attracted to a manly man when they’re fertile.

For most women, Haselton said, “it probably happens and it’s gone after a matter of days, and the relationship goes on as it was before.”

So for you round-faced, soft-featured guys, there’s not much you can do. It’ll pass, but when your wife is fertile, she may be secretly attracted to other guys.

My Favourite African American Hotties

Firstly, don't take offence if your favourite isn't on this list as you did with the redheads, it's just personal opinion and we're all entitled to one.

Also, when I did my hottest 20 ladies, someone noted that there weren't many women of colour on my list. Again, it's just personal preference, but that's not to say there aren't no gorgeous African American women out there.

Hence the inspiration for this blog. And I've purposely left out the bi-racial, hispanic, asian etc, ladies, just because I want this blog to be dedicated to chocolate ladies only.

Look at the cutie! Alicia has the voice of a soul sistah and I personally adore her music. Plus, a girl who knows how to play an instrument? HOT DAMN.

Nicki Minaj.

I'll probably get some stick for putting Minaj on the list, but she's America's top rapping mama right now and she's a cutie!

Michelle Obama.

I couldn't leave out America's first lady, could I? She's sassy and in amazing shape for an older woman. You work it, Mrs. O!

Gabrielle Union.

I first saw Gabrielle on camp cheerleading movie Bring It On and later on TV cult series Friends, and both times I thought 'wow, what a pretty woman!' Disagree? WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?

I could go on for quite a while, but that's all I have time for: my girlfriend just woke up due to noisy housemates, so I suppose I better go kiss her so she doesn't get cranky...

Lesbian Sex: What works and what doesn't?

I've never been a fan of open sex talk, but as a lesbian blogger, I feel it is my duty.

As requested, I have decided to publish a post about sex.

I have a few questions myself. For example, does LBD (Lesbian Bed Death) really exist? I for one have not experienced it with any of my partners, so I was just wondering if anyone else had.

Anyway... Let's talk positions and techniques. What works and what doesn't?

Favourites traditionally include scissoring, oral and sex in the shower, but which of these is the favourite among lesbians? (Vote in the poll to the right or leave a comment!)

Another question: What is so sexy about sex against a wall? Is it the coldness of the wall you're leaning against or is it simply that you have complete control over your victim? I know what my answer would be, but I, along with other lesbians, am intrigued (and slightly nosey) to see what other lesbians think.

How about foreplay? Do you like it to last for a long time, or is it better to get straight into some passionate love-making?

I understand that this post is mostly a series of questions, but it'd be great to know the general feeling towards sex from others.

Why do I dislike men so much, you ask?

Here's why...

Take male chauvinist Dick Masterson. Granted, he's a bit of an extreme example, but he's a perfect example of how bad men's attitudes towards women and, more specifically lesbians, can be.

What's that? All women are lesbians for attention? HOLD THE PHONE! Am I not right in thinking there are a lot of homophobic women out there who would rather not pass themselves off as homosexual? And more importantly, funnily enough, all the lesbians I know are not doing it for attention, they're doing it because of men like you. (Oh, also the fact that women are hotter and clearly make better conversation than men may have something to do with it.)
